On 12 December it is held the second anniversary of “Patoku Lagoon Day”. This day was established for the first time in 12 December 2014 as local community engagement action to preserve the biodiversity of the lagoon, a protected area, Important Bird Area and Key Biodiversity Area as well.
The focus of this year was the increase of participation and strengthening of the communication between the local actors by the involvement of 5 local schools, local users and community, Protected Area Staff and Representative of the newly established municipality. The event is organised and hosted in the Church of Gurrezi village.
The action is supported from “Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund” (CEPF).
