In order to increase the role of the local community in nature conservation, during 14-18 December an awareness campaign was held in 5 schools within the Patoku Lagoon (Protected Area / IBA and KBA). A specific informative flyer for the damages if hunting in fauna were distributed to 1,000 pupils, guided to read it to their family members aiming thus to expand the impact of the campaign in 1,000 families as well.

The action is supported from “Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund” (CEPF) to empower the local communities for conservation actions and reduce the hunting pressure in the KBA. The event was organized from Mr. Gjok Bici, the local coordinator of the campaign.
